Who Was Tarik Nwoko?
Tarik Nwoko was the eldest son of Nigerian lawyer, businessman and politician Prince Ned Munir Nwoko. He was a law student in England whose life was cut short in December 2014, at age 22. His father also described Tarik as a keen footballer.

Early Life
Tarik Nwoko was born to Ned Nwoko and a mother, reportedly from Morocco. He was the politician’s first son and grew up within the Nwoko family. Public information about his childhood, siblings and early education remains limited.

Tarik was studying law at North Staffordshire University in England at the time of his death. According to reports, he hoped to become a lawyer like his father. He was also a keen footballer and played for his university’s first team.
Death and Cause of Death
Tarik Nwoko died in his sleep in London in the early hours of December 8, 2014, aged 22. According to a statement from his father reported by The Nation, Tarik had dinner with a friend the previous evening and complained that he was feeling unwell. He was found dead the following morning.
The London police reportedly ruled out foul play and, according to the family’s statement at the time, also ruled out drugs and alcohol.
In later years, Ned Nwoko said an autopsy had established heart failure as the cause of death. However, the underlying autopsy report has not been made publicly available in the sources reviewed, so this should be attributed to Nwoko rather than presented as an independently verified medical record.
