He first gained attention through gaming videos before expanding into challenges, comedy, livestreams and large-scale humanitarian campaigns.

Early Life and Education

Hassan Suleiman was born on December 18, 1998, in Kuwait City, Kuwait. Although he was born and raised in Kuwait, he is of Somali heritage. He spent his childhood in Kuwait before later establishing his career and residence in the United Arab Emirates.

He grew up in a family that was initially uncertain about his decision to pursue YouTube as a career. His father reportedly did not consider YouTube a reliable profession and was initially opposed to the idea. His mother, however, supported his ambitions and encouraged him to continue.

Hassan completed his secondary education but did not attend university. Financial difficulties were reportedly one reason he did not continue into higher education. Instead, he began looking for another path and eventually turned his interest in gaming into a career.

Career

AboFlah started his YouTube journey in 2016 under the name Games Falah. His earliest content focused primarily on gaming. One of his first videos was based on Clash of Clans, while his later uploads included games such as FIFA 17 and Battlefield 1.

He made his early videos with limited resources. He reportedly began creating content using an iPhone 6 and a simple headset. He continued uploading consistently. His humorous personality and gaming skills gradually attracted a larger audience.

As his channel grew, he changed the name from Games Falah to AboFlah. The name “Flah” was chosen from the Gulf dialect and is associated with fun and enjoyment. He later became known for much larger fundraising campaigns. In 2021, AboFlah launched a fundraising campaign for refugees that raised approximately $1 million in around 28 hours. His biggest campaign came in January 2022.

As part of the World’s Coolest Winter initiative, AboFlah locked himself inside a glass enclosure near the Burj Khalifa in Dubai and remained there during a continuous livestream. The goal was to raise money to provide winter assistance to refugees and people in need.

The campaign eventually raised more than $11 million. The livestream attracted enormous attention and resulted in AboFlah receiving two Guinness World Records related to livestreaming and humanitarian campaigns. He has also previously helped raise money for cataract surgeries in Africa and has donated cars to members of his audience.
